Story Line
Ayashi no Ceres, or Ceres Celestial Legend, is the story of a 16 year old girl named Aya Mikage. She starts off as your average japanese highschool student. She and her twin brother Aki
are approach their 16th birthday. On this day, everything changes, after visiting their grandpa's for what was suppose to be a "birthday party" Aki and Aya are tragically seperated. Aya soon
finds out that she is the decendant of a celestial maiden named Ceres. Also on this day she meets Tooya, the man of her destiny. The Mikage want to rid of Ceres, meaning they want to kill Aya. Aki however, is considered the chosen one and they are willing
to protect him at all costs. There is one person of the Mikage who doesn't want to destroy Ceres. Aya's cousin Kagami Mikage would rather study her and harness the true power of the celestial being. He creats the C-Project to do just this. Aya comes across many enimies and allies
throughout the series. She battles her mix of emotions while Ceres, who embodies her, tries to complete her mission of destroying the Mikage. It is a story of suffering, love, tears, and strength.
Time Line
--Aya Mikage and Aki Mikage, average twins living in Japan going to school. The day before their birthday.
--Aya visits a fortune teller. The fortune teller reveals "In the future, you will fall under the control of the star of darkness.
I see blood, anger, and sadness, the destruction of the equilibrium of everything in this world.
On the day when the 16th star and moon come around, the fated time shall come to pass."
- The bashful moon reveals but a glimpse of him; Yet is enough to smite the heart; He becomes the star of midnight reveries.
--On the way home from school Aya comes across a purse snatcher. Being the daring young girl she is, she runs after the theif
to retrieve the stolen purse. She retrieves it however, loses her balance falling off a bridge, below her is busy traffic.
-She saw him for only a moment, lit up by the moon peeking from the clouds. A memory that never fades. Without warning they meet,
and he enters her dreams.
--Aya floats to the arms of Tooya, for the first time she meets the other side of her soul. Almost simultaniously , she meets the man of her destiny and these encounters bring a farewell to both teenage boredom and to peace.
-Aya and Aki are told about a birthday party at their grandpa's that they were to attend on their 16th birthday. Unwillingly, they go after their parents make it obvious that they must. At grandpa's they reminisce of their childhood days.
--Aya and Aki twins in both birth and mind, race toward adulthood ignorant of the loving wings that chelter them. They live the peaceful warmth of innocence unaware of the hard, cruel fate that awaits.
-At grandpa's, Aya and Aki come to realize that it isn't really a birthday party at all. With all relatives present, Aya and Aki are handed a single box with a bow around it. The gift triggers Aya to show her other form, and Aki to transform into his other being. Their Grandfather
hand's Aya's father a gun and tells him of his duty however, her father is not able to shoot his own daughter, instead he is killed by one of grandfather's men in front of Aya. Aya fled, now seperated from her dear brother.
--A soul reborn in a new human body. Without regard for her wishes, Aya upon reaching her 16th birthday, finds another spirit dwelling within her, and is able to invoke the powers of a celestial maiden. Her grandfather and extended family, whom have protected her since childhood, become her mortal enemies, and plot her murder.
Aya has now embarked on a new life.
-Aya is saved once again by Tooya, having her first kiss. She then meets and is rescued by Yuuhi, brother of Suzumi Aaogiri, another who posesses the blood of a tennyo and wishes to protect Aya from the Mikage.
-Suzumi shelters Aya, and tries to explain what she can to her. Suzumi orders Yuuhi to protect Aya.
--Time never hesitates; Moment by moment, life changes. The incensed celestial maiden within Aya emerges and sets about taking her revenge- the eradication of the MIkages. Twin brother Aki is willingly taken captive to protect his beloved sister. Through her own blood and fate itself has conspired against her, Aya resolves
to fight and survive. The peaceful days she shared with her brother are only a memory.
-Kagami Mikage talks Aki into comming with him for the sake of Aya.
--Two hreats move closer- unsure. He goes to her simply because he missed the sight of her face. SHe wishes to know everything about him. He doesn't even know who he is. He is hired to capture her; she wonders why she is so obsessed with him. She's only a mission; he wonders why her heart affects him so. In an attraction that defies reason, each heart gradually lends the other color.
Aya and Tooya grow closer.
-Aya knows she has many choices and circumstances, yet her thoughts are filled with Tooya. She is confused at the many emotions she is feeling.
